სWillem Dafoe became the Best Actor for the film At Eternity's Gate. It tells a story of Van Gogh, so the title is from one of his works. "This is a film about painting and a painter and their relationship to infinity. It is told by a painter. This is not the official history - it's my version. One that I hope could make you closer to him." - claimed the director Julian Schnabel.

The award for best actress was given to Olivia Colman of The Favorite by Yorgos Lanthimos. The same film was awarded with the festival grand prix as well.

Jacques Audiard is a true master of a criminal drama. His film "The Prophet" got a Cannes Grand Prix of the Jury in 2009.
