Description:

Nothing seems to disturb the peace of Hardborough, a charming village in the East of England. But when Florence Green, a young widow, decides to open a bookstore there, she discovers the muffled hell of gossiping and the ferocious ostracism of part of the population. While the influential Violet Gamart rises the inhabitants against her project, Florence will find valuable support from the mysterious Mr. Brundish who finds that this small town needs a breath of fresh air.

 

 

 

Isabel Coixet

Born in San Adrián de Besós (Barcelona) in 1962. She moved to the U.S. where she filmed Things I Never Told You (1996). Three years later she premièred A los que aman and, in 2003, My Life Without Me, which won the Goya Award for best adapted screenplay. She won four Goyas for The Secret Life of Words (2005). In 2009 she premièred Map of the Sounds of Tokyo shot in Japan and Barcelona.
