Description:

The film is set in the recently Sovietized Georgia during the NEP period. 1925 year… in spite of a number of obstacles and barriers, the American businessman, Averell Harriman, obtains a concession from the Soviet government to extract and export Chiatura manganese over the period of 20 years.

 

 

 

Olga Zhgenti

Graduated from the Department of History and Theory of Art at Ivane Javakhishvili State University. She is an invited lecturer at the Department of Humanities of the same University; the associate professor of Batumi Art University; the author of scientific articles as well as books and monographs. Zhgenti has worked as director at various TV companies. She is the author and director of several documentaries, including: “ Knut Hamsun’s  Caucasian Misteries” (2005); “John Steinbeck and A Russian Journal” (2008);  "Zurab Nujaradze" (2011); “George Balanchine  - The other shores” (2013); “Henrik Ibsen and Georgia” (2015).
