The film is based on a real poetic love story.
This story took place in the city of Tbilisi at the beginning of the 20th century. The famous symbolist poet of that period, Paolo Iashvili, read poems about female passions under the pseudonym ”Elene Dariani”. The topic of the poems caused outrage in society and raised the question of who was the author of these passions?
Who really is “Elene Dariani,” a mystification of poet Paolo Iashvili, or the woman in his shadow? This question remains relevant in Georgia to this day.
